The Rogel Cancer Center Tissue and Molecular Pathology (TMP) Shared Resource (SR) consists of several distinct, yet complementary services relating to the procurement and evaluation of tissue for research. The Tissue Procurement Core provides pathology sanctioned procurement of surgically resected neoplastic and non-neoplastic tissue (fresh and frozen). The Histology Core and the Molecular Pathology Research Laboratory (MPRL) are fee for service facilities. The staff and directors are always willing to discuss how we can facilitate your research.
Our histology laboratory, HIS (HISTOLOGY IMMUNOHISTOCHEMISTRY SERVICE AKA Research Histology), is a respected resource in providing a quality product for publications and grants for our investigators. We provide timely services that include and are not limited to: processing, embedding, sectioning, H&E, immunohistochemistry, special staining & frozen sectioning.

The Molecular Pathology Research Laboratory (MPRL) serves as a core ‘fee for service’ wet-lab for Rogel Cancer Center members. The MRPL performs in situ hybridization for mRNA studies and does nucleic acid extractions for a variety of molecular pathology applications, such as PCR studies (done by MPRL) and NGS (done by other labs). We also offer chromogenic and Fluorescence in situ hybridization (CISH/FISH), multiplex immunohistochemistry and combination ISH/IHC. We also construct custom tissue microarray. Our staff are always willing to discuss your needs and provide a timely service.
